Mistletoast

UPS hosted Mistletoast, a swing dancing venue which I just got back from.

The awesome part:


For reasons I still cannot fathom I, Joan, signed up for the Jack and Jill lindy competition. It was crazy idea and I only did it because everyone else in Swing Kids did. I mean there were 25 girls and some of them were really good.


The more awesome part:
Only 5 girls made it to the finals and I WAS ONE!!!

I couldn't believe it when they called my name. And it was satisfying to have all the Swing Kids see that I had made it and cheer me on.

The Less Awesome Part
I didn't make it into the top 3. I danced with this guy from Portland. Rosey you know him, long, curly hair, tall and he wears glasses. I felt so bad because I kept tripping over him. It wasn't that either of us was bad, but we were both trying to shine in front of the judges and our styles were really different. And then we had to blues, which was great. But then we had to do fast lindy and he hated that, and it was solos, so needless to say I was feeling pretty bad about the performance.

Still it was wonderful to be in the finals.
All together wonderful!!!!
